weekend was my company Christmas party in Quebec. Since it took place on Friday evening, I took the opportunity to request leave and make a weekend of three days in the provincial capital.
Friday morning, I left for Quebec quietly. While I was on the road I thought it would be worth going to see what looked like Charlevoix Baie-Saint-Paul.
To encourage our local producers (and make a few stops on the Taste Trail Charlevoix ), I went to buy cheese at the cheese directly from the Family Migneron , and the Laiterie Charlevoix . Subsequently, I went down in the village at the point of sale of the Chocolaterie du Village Landslides. Simply fantastic ... especially those chocolates that ice wine!
Returning to Quebec in the afternoon, I stopped at Massif de la Petite Rivière Saint-François to see the snow conditions, ski trails open and buy two bags back to be able to ski boots on the sides without wetting my stock as ski gloves, hat, helmet, etc.. One for my dad and one for me. I bought one for my mother last year and it had enjoyed it.
I arrived at the hotel Best Western to 17 hours. Time to take my shower, change clothes and wait for the taxi, I arrived at the reception at 18 h 45. The time for a cocktail and subsequently take place at my table to 19 hours and that was it. The evening was fun, except that everything that was served was cold. No warm fret! For me, eating cooked vegetables, potatoes au gratin potatoes and my steak medium rare cold, I did not find it great. The chocolate log by cons, a real treat! Once the band began playing music and we do not we hear more talk, I took the opportunity to leave. I returned to the hotel at around 23 hours.
Saturday morning, I took my morning relaxed ... I stayed in bed until 11 o'clock. I woke up around 9 am 15, watched the ski conditions, since I wanted to ski Stoneham , but when I saw that there were only 10 or 11 tracks open, I dropped. Pay $ 47 for the day and not have all the tracks, very little for me. Finally, I listened to the end of the show Hi Hi Weekend and they were talking about wine. Both shows were following what's cooking and Above the market. Two programs where we talk about food. Since I do not take the time to listen regularly, I took the opportunity to rinse my eyes and give me some ideas for recipes to try.
When I left the hotel, it was noon and I went shopping on the Rue Saint-Jean in Old Quebec to find my gift for Christmas in the family to my father. I went to dinner at La Grolla located at 815 Côte d'Abraham. A nice little restaurant with Swiss cheese fondue and a bottle of wine. Since I have not finished it, I returned to the hotel and I finished with my chocolates after going into the spa and swimming pool. They were delicious I tell you! In the evening I listened to a classic holiday which passed VAT or True True Lie ... lie ... Even if it is not new and a little pull by the hair, I love that movie with Arnold.
Finally, my day started on Sunday at 11 am again ... Let's say I stayed in bed zap to various television stations before getting up. Subsequently, I went towards the National Museum of Fine Arts of Quebec located in the Battlefields Park. I went to see the exhibition El Greco to Dali . It was good, but personally, I expected to see more paintings of painters. By cons, those who were present were very beautiful. I like going to the museum, but again, I will not go every week. I just love to play sports for that!
Following the Museum, I took the 40 westbound flights Montreal. And it was finished my weekend very relaxing ... I have a little less like a return to reality on Monday morning with the job. I console myself with the fact that cons I only have three working days before a big five days off for Christmas!
